The Threads of Fate
Our last version was one of discovery: the map expanded, new lands were claimed, forgotten places were brought back into the light, and the people of New Ognos began to put down roots beyond the boundaries they once knew. Territories were unlocked, leaders rose, alliances were forged, and the island began to feel less like a battlefield and more like a home. But with every new foundation comes new questions. What binds a people together once there is no common enemy left to fight? This year, those bonds are being tested in an entirely different way. Something has changed in the air. A strange warmth has settled over New Ognos, carried on whispers of impossible coincidences and encounters that feel just a little too perfectly timed. Lost belongings find their way back to their owners. Strangers cross paths at exactly the right moment. Old friendships are rekindled, new connections are formed, and everywhere people are left wondering whether fate is guiding their steps.
Velarayni, the goddess of love in all its forms, has always cherished connection, but now her influence has become impossible to ignore. Blessings and gifts are showered upon couples and individuals alike. Promises feel heavier. Bonds feel stronger. And for some, the line between a gentle nudge and an overwhelming push has begun to blur. Love may bring people together, but what happens when something greater decides it knows who belongs beside whom?
Beyond the celebrations and ceremonies, another mystery waits. Places touched by Velarayni's power have begun to shift, drawing some travelers away from the world they know and into Gauzewood: a paradise where every desire seems answered, every need fulfilled, and every reason to leave slowly begins to disappear. It is a place of comfort, beauty, and danger — a reminder that even the sweetest gifts can come with a cost.
This is a year of promises, choices, and connections. A year where kingdoms must decide how they respond, where individuals must decide what bonds they value, and where the people of New Ognos must determine whether they are willing to let destiny guide them or forge their own paths.
The world has been restored. Now comes the question of who we choose to shape its future with.

About the Owner
My name is Signe and my pronouns are she/they. I've been a member of the play-by-post roleplaying community for over 20 years; I have had the privilege of supporting various sites over the years in roles such as owner, co-owner, moderator, admin, and support team member. I am able to provide support throughout the week but am typically most available on the weekends due to real-life commitments. As someone who is queer, neurodivergent, and disabled myself, I am always looking for new ways to support an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. ❤
